He agreed with the Ice Cube track being one of the best diss tracks before pointing out that diss tracks were originally meant to elevate the competition rather than create real-life tension between rappers. When asked about “The Bridge is Over,” where a distasteful line about Roxanne Shante is performed, The DOC suggests that was due to the genre’s growing pains at the time.
