Jap5 revealed he was literally born into the 107 Hoover Criminals, a gang that emerged in the late 1960s and allied with the Crip movement in the early 1970s. While Jap5 admits he didn’t grasp the gravity of his environment as a child, growing up surrounded by normalized violence, his awareness deepened only after time spent in juvenile hall. Despite the challenges of having his father frequently incarcerated from a young age, Jap5 embraced his lineage, earning the nickname “little Jap” and eventually becoming fully immersed in gang life.
