Man Murders Ex Girlfriend’s Entire Family In Deadly Ambush
On October 30, 2022, 21-year-old Joseph Castorena broke into his ex-girlfriend Jessica Serrano’s family home in Aurora, Colorado, hid inside with a gun, and ambushed the family when they returned from a party after 2 a.m., shooting four people dead: Jessica’s father, her twin sister, her brother-in-law, and a tenant renting an RV on the property. Jessica survived after calling police when she noticed Castorena’s keys in her bedroom. Years of stalking, abuse, and obsessive control had preceded the massacre, and just days earlier, Jessica and her father had obtained protective orders against him. Castorena fled to Mexico but was captured two months later and sentenced to four consecutive life terms without the possibility of parole.
