Lil Bibby: I Got Arrested Over 60 Times Between 14-21 & Twice in One Day

By the time Lil Bibby turned 21, he’d realized he’s been arrested over 60 times while trying to enter Canada. The Chicago native says his arrest streak started when he was 14 and explained that most of his incarcerations were during his late teens years. “I would say [between] 17-18, it was probably 20 [times] a piece.” He said that he would skip school and stand on the corners when most of his interactions with authorities in what he calls “red zones”—areas which gives police jurisdiction to stop and frisk anyone at any time. “I was standing outside doing what I was doing everyday.” He said, “Our neighborhood is so bad, they call it a red zone and the police could do whatever they want to you.”

At some point, the rapper remembers having an epiphany while being in the bullpen with his much older cellmates and drug addicts and told himself “‘I’m too smart for this s***.’ So after that day, I just took rap serious.”
