During KTO’s most recent trip to NYC, Arshan caught up with Atlanta rap duo, Homixide Gang, for their first interview ever. The group consists of Homixide Beno! & Homixide Meechie, who are part of Playboi Carti’s record label, OPIUM. Homixide Gang’s debut projects, Snotty World & Snotty World (Deluxe), dropped in 2021. They quickly built a die-hard fanbase with songs like “5unna”, “Holler”, & “55 Lifestyle”, which racked up millions of plays in less than a year.
During their conversation, Homixide Gang talk about staying lowkey, growing up in Atlanta, how they met, and what they did before rapping. They reveal that they recently started recording & talk about selling “Beno!” hoodies after getting a shoutout on Carti’s Whole Lotta Red. They pay respects to producer, D. Hill (RIP), before talking about the first time meeting Carti, him signing them immediately, & Carti’s music advice: be yourself. They discuss their lives changing after signing, “crazy” fans, & react to a funny fan video. Beno & Meechie agree that Opium is like a family & reveal that they were close before making music.
