2Pac Is Inducted Into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

On Friday, 2Pac joined ELO, Journey, Joan Baez, Nile Rodgers of Chic, Pearl Jam, and Yes as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2017. In front of the Barclays Center crowd, Snoop Dogg reflected on the life and work of his former Death Row labelmate.

According to WKYC in Cleveland, Ohio, Snoop credited 2Pac with being the person responsible for getting the Dogg to smoke blunts when he was growing up. (You can see Pac’s blunt-rolling prowess at the 1:49 mark of this video). Snoop called Pac “the greatest rapper of all time.”

Apparently, Snoop also shared a funny story about going parasailing with Pac that we will just need to wait and hear about when HBO airs the ceremony on April 29.

After Snoop, Alicia Keys took the stage to perform a collection of Tupac’s hits, including “Ambitionz Az a Ridah,” “I Ain’t Mad at Cha,” and “Dear Mama.”

Snoop returned to the stage after Alicia to perform “Gangsta Party” with YG. Then, 2Pac’s close friend Treach from Naughty by Nature gave his rendition of “Hail Mary.” The pair met back in the early 1990s, when Pac was dancing for the Digital Underground and Treach was touring with Queen Latifah.

Following that performance, T.I. donned Pac’s signature front-tied bandana look and did “Keep Ya Head Up.”
