Beyoncé Is the Most Nominated Female Artist in Grammy History

Beyoncé has scored more Grammy Award nominations than any other female in the award show’s history. She earned a total of nine nominations for categories including Album of the year, Song of the Year, and Record of the Year, among others, making her the most nominated artist for the 59th annual award show.

The singer now has a staggering total of 62 nominations to her name, which makes her the most nominated female ever. She is also the first artist to earn nominations in the pop, rock, R&B, and rap categories in the same year.

Queen Bey could make even more Grammy history based on how many awards she takes home in February. She has already won 20 awards, but she can surpass Alison Krauss as the most-honored woman in Grammy history if she takes home eight of her nine nominations, according to The New York Times.

Interestingly enough, both Beyoncé and Adele have tied the record for the woman artist who was awarded the most Grammys in one night with each artist winning six awards in 2010 and 2012, respectively.

We will definitely be tuning into the Grammy Awards when they air Feb. 12 on CBS where we will likely see the Queen take home some more hardware. You can check out the rest of this year’s nominees here.
