Beyoncé Surprises an L.A. Dance Troupe and They Lose It

When we normally talk Beyoncé and surprises, they are geared more towards her album releases; both 2013’s Beyoncé and 2016’s Lemonade were released to little or no build-up. For her most recent surprise, Beyoncé didn’t drop any new anthems; she dropped in on the Alvin Ailey Dance Theater.

For those who were unaware, the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater was founded in 1958 by legendary choreographer and activist Alvin Ailey. This past Saturday, Beyoncé and her mother Tina Knowles caught one of their shows at the L.A. Music Center with Tina’s Angels, which is a group of young women that Knowles is mentoring.

After the matinee performance, Tina brought Beyoncé and her Angels backstage to greet the dancers, and from the clips that hit Instagram, this looks like a momentous occasion for everyone involved.

You can only imagine how it must feel to have someone like Beyoncé calling you “incredible” must be for the soul.
