Big Boi’s New Album ‘Boomiverse’ Will Include Appearances by Adam Levine, Killer Mike, and Jeezy
Big Boi is coming through this week. After announcing his upcoming album Boomiverse on Wednesday, the 42-year-old rapper promised fans he’d deliver the project’s first singles Thursday night.
The news came after several days of Big Boi teased on social media. There was a cryptic Instgram post with the hashtag #BigBoomTheory, as well as several Photoshopped images of him next to Adam Levine. It turns out the Maroon 5 frontman will be featured on the album’s “Mic Jack” track, one of the two songs debuting tomorrow. The other cut is titled “Kill Jill,” and will have contributions from Killer Mike and Jeezy.
There’s still no word on an official Boomiverse release date; however, we do know the twin lead singles will premiere at 12:30 p.m. ET on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show Thursday. And we can also look forward to a “Mic Jack” music video in the near future.
Boomiverse will mark Big Boi’s third solo studio album, and his first solo LP since 2012’s Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors. His previous full-length project was a 2015 Big Grams EP with electronic rock duo Phantogram.
