Cam’Ron Responds to Jim Jones’ Tearful Interview
As promised, Cam’ron went live on Instagram on Saturday, in response to Jim Jones’ tearful interview, in which he discussed the fractured relationship between himself and his former Dipset brethren.
In the interview with Hot 97’s Funkmaster Flex, Jones recalled the beginnings of his friendship with Cam, and by the sound of it, they were thick as thieves. “Before I got all the pieces together, I was everything; I was the hypeman, I was the road manager, I was the manager, I was the security,” he said. “Everything you could name, I was it for Cam.”
Jones went on to elaborate on the rise and fall of the seminal Harlem rap group, and hinted towards some personal indiscretions on Cam’ron’s part. Of course, Cam took issue with Jones’ comments, promising an epic response to the interview.
“Ima go live 2mr night at 9pm..” Cam’ron posted on Instagram “I ain’t gonna be [crying emoji] either.” So what exactly did Cam have to say?
Cam’ron opened his livestream dancing with his fiancée Juju to R. Kelly’s “Happy People.” Once it hit 9 p.m. on the dot, Cam got to business. With a can of Pepsi and seated comfortably at his desk, he begins with speaking about his history growing up in Harlem, meeting Mase, and how his friendship with Jim Jones came about. You can tune in live here.
