Chance the Rapper, Childish Gambino, Wu-Tang Clan, and More to Perform at Governors Ball 2017 in NYC

It may only be January but the music festivals that are going to rock our world in the coming months are slowly rolling out artist lineups. The latest is Governors Ball, which will feature Chance the Rapper as one of the three headliners. The Chicago native and hometown hero had the biggest year of his career yet in 2016, which included the release of his impressive mixtape Coloring Book, absolutely bodying his appearance on Kanye West’s The Life of Pablo, and earning seven Grammy nominations including Best New Artist. Rounding out the headlining performers alongside Chance are Tool and Phoenix.

Other notable acts lined up for Governors Ball this year include Childish Gambino, Wu-Tang Clan, YG, Rae Sremmurd, Charli XCX, Logic, and Wiz Khalifa.

Kehlani, ASAP Ferg, Marshmello, Majid Jordan, and Dua Lipa are also set to perform at Randall’s Island Park in NYC come June 2-4.

If you remember back at the 2014 edition of Governors Ball, not only did Chance and Childish both perform solo sets, but Chance also joined Childish during his time slot to deliver a special rendition of “The Worst Guys.” The moment was followed by Childish revealing the two were planning a collaborative project.

Fast forward to earlier this month and it appears the two are making good on that announcement, if you believe in reading between the lines and whatnot. Two years later, but we’ll take it. And who knows? Maybe they’ll join each other on stage again to perform something new for fans.
