Chance the Rapper Does the #OptimisticChallenge
In less than 24 hours, Donald Trump will officially become the 45th president of the United States. And although many citizens consider this fact a national nightmare, not all of Trump’s critics have completely abandoned hope. Black Twitter, for example, has started a viral challenge that encourages a positive outlook during these uncertain times. And some of its latest participants are Chance the Rapper and Kyle.
On Thursday evening, the artists posted a video of them doing the aptly titled #OptimisticChallenge. It features Chance and Kyle alongside their friends (Eric Butler and Reese of Savemoney, and Kyle’s crew member Brick) dancing to “Optimistic” by Sounds of Blackness.
The challenge apparently started after Jay Versace posted a video of he and his friends performing a choreographed routine to the 1991 gospel track. Fans later dubbed the video the #OptimisticChallenge, and it all took off from there.
