Chance the Rapper Joins Francis and the Lights on “May I Have This Dance (Remix)”
Tonight we receive new material from Chance the Rapper as the Chicago artist hops on the remix of Francis and the Lights’ “May I Have This Dance.” The original appeared on their debut album Farewell, Starlite!
Chance’s verse is a dedication to his daughter, Kensli, as he sing-raps about how much he cares for her. “You must have been born with two right feet,” he says before declaring, “I love you more than your mother/More than you love yourself.”
He spoke at length about his relationship with his daughter in Complex’s March video cover story. “There was never a point, ever, in my life where I can remember loving someone as much or more than I love my mom until I met my daughter.” he said.
Previously, Chance and Francis and the Lights collaborated on the Coloring Book cut “Summer Friends,” which samples Francis’ “Friends.”
Francis Farewell Starlite also revealed the music video for “May I Have This Dance (Remix),” which is directed by Jake Schreier, will arrive Thursday at midnight.
