Check Out the Composer Credits for Kendrick’s New Album
On Thursday night, Kendrick Lamar announced that he’d be releasing his as-yet-untitled new album on April 14. While little information was available beyond the number of songs and the fact that “Humble” would appear on the record, an enterprising Reddit user figured out a way to see a whole lot more.
Reddit user signposthead discovered a way to pre-order the album on iTunes, push a few buttons, and see the composer credits for all fourteen tracks. We double-checked just to make sure, and the system, which you can see here, worked.
The list reveals heavy involvement from TDE in-house producer Sounwave, as well as (presumably musical, rather than lyrical) contributions from DJ Dahi, the Alchemist, Mike Will Made-It, Cardo, and 9th Wonder. The members of U2 are also named as composers on Track 11, though it remains to be seen whether that’s for an actual appearance, a sample, or an interpolation. James Blake shows up on Track 4, and BADBADNOTGOOD on Track 9.
