Daniel Caesar Teams Up With Kali Uchis and BADBADNOTGOOD For His “Get You” Video
Daniel Caesar’s track “Get You” originally premiered on Carl Chery’s #TheCosign show on Beats 1 Radio back in October, and now Ceasar is back with a video for the song.
Liam MacRae—who previously directed PARTYNEXTDOOR‘s “Recognize”—helms the video, which he shot on 16mm film. According to a press release, it was inspired by a performance by The Doors on The Rock Scene: Like It Is, a 1960s music show in Canada. Due to this inspiration, the video has a decidedly old-school feel. It mostly focuses on Caesar singing on stage, as well as shots of the various characters in the crowd. BADBADNOTGOOD play Caesar’s band in the clip, and they’re also featured on the track alongside Kali Uchis.
Daniel Caesar’s full-length album is set to release sometime in 2017, and will follow up his last EP Pilgrim’s Paradise, which dropped on Nov. 12 of 2015. Complex News caught up with Caesar recently to learn more about his music, his writing process, and coming up in Toronto.
