Ed Sheeran Releases “Castle on the Hill” and “Shape of You”

Ed Sheeran is officially back.

Late Thursday night, the 25-year-old English singer-songwriter dropped two new tracks, “Castle on the Hill” and “Shape of You.” Sheeran teased the releases earlier this week on social media, posting snippets as well as lyrics.

Hours before the songs were released, Sheeran also took to Twitter to confirm the title of his upcoming third studio album. And, just as many fans predicted, the project will called ÷ (divide). It’s fitting name considering his 2011 debut project was + (plus) and his 2014 sophomore album was titled x (multiply). The man clearly has a thing for math symbols.

Sheeran teased his third album in December of 2015, on the same day he announced he would step away from the limelight and take some time to travel the world and record his new record: “To my family and friends, if you love me you will understand me buggering off for a bit, to my fans, the 3rd album is on it is way and is the best thing I have made thus far.”
