Elz the DJ Created an Hour-Long Mix Dedicated to Quavo’s Solo Work
Though there’s no question Migos had a successful 2016, its front man Quavo was able to make some pretty impressive moves on his own. The 25-year-old not only released a handful of solo records—such as “Shine,” “Trapstar,” and “My Pockets”—he also landed guest appearances on tracks by Kanye West (“Champions”), Gucci Mane (“Floor Seats”), Young Thug (“Guqwop”), and more. In other words, he killed it this year.
To celebrate Quavo’s solo endeavors, Chicago’s Elz the DJ created an hour-long mix consisting of the rapper’s most memorable features. It’s aptly titled “Featuring Quavo.”
“2016 was a big year for the Migos, whose ‘Bad & Boujee’ looks to be a major comeback hit. But Quavo made as much noise this year solo, stealing the show on a gang of tracks by artists from across the hip-hop world,” Elz the DJ wrote on his Soundcloud page. “Mainly focused on his 2016 output, this mix captures Quavo’s best features in 2016, with no Migos tracks included.”
You can listen to the extensive mix below. It includes cuts like Thugger’s “Pick Up the Phone,” Lil Yachty’s “Minnesota,” Travis Scott’s “On My Dis Side,” and Blac Youngsta’s “Come Through.”
Earlier this year, Migos announced they would release their sophomore album, Culture, by the end of September; however, it has since been delayed until further notice. Don’t give up hope, though: The trio has reassured fans that the project is still on the way, and they were working on its tracklist as of mid-October. Stay tuned as more information about the record comes in.
