GOOD Music’s ‘Cruel Winter’ Reportedly Still Happening
There’s still hope for a Cruel Winter release.
Over the past several years, fans have been holding their collective breath for the follow-up to G.O.O.D. Music’s 2012 compilation album Cruel Summer. Common told fans in early 2013 that the project was “more of a rumor” and he didn’t think it was actually happening. Hit-Boy echoed his label mate, insisting there were no plans for it. About a week after the disappointing news, Travis Scott sent out a now-deleted tweet, announcing Cruel Winter was still on the way. Fans didn’t know what to believe.
Fast-forward to 2017, and we’re still waiting on a release date. And although some have given up on the long-awaited project, G.O.O.D. Music signee CyHi The Prynce wants you to know the project will be released.
During a recent Reddit AMA, the 32-year-old rapper was asked if Cruel Winter was really coming. CyHi responded with a simple “yep.” When asked if he had any verses on the project, he replied, once again, with “yep.”
Though he didn’t provide any more details about Cruel Winter, his answers are reassuring.
During an interview on Hot 97’s Ebro in the Morning last year, Travis revealed Cruel Winter was expected to drop sometime this month.
“Cruel Winter, I’m going to be executive producing that album […] It’s coming very soon,” he said. “I’m saying February.”
The rapper also revealed every G.O.O.D. Music signee will be included on the album, and that it will be”very youthful, straight to the point, just the illest ever.”
At this point, we’ll believe it when we see it.
