James Franco Recreates Beyoncé’s Iconic “Hold Up” Look for Mystery Project

No question about it: Beyoncé‘s “Hold Up” visual was probably definitely the best music video of the year. So maybe our guy James Franco is just out here in the streets of Los Angeles paying tribute? We’re not entirely sure, but have a peek:

The Why Him? star was spotted earlier this week rocking the hell out of that iconic “Hold Up” look, awesomely choosing not to disclose any details whatsoever about what he was working on at the time. According to E! News, Franco’s Queen B cosplay is part of an “upcoming movie.”

Compelling. Some have argued, however, that Franco didn’t totally nail the look:

Franco previously embodied the spirit of noted American poet Riff Raff, going full redneck for the “Only in America” visual back in November. Instead of an iconic yellow dress, Franco’s Riff Raff cosplay included a perfectly egregious choice of eyewear:

Timely as fuck. For a more traditional Franco performance, peep Franco alongside Bryan Cranston and Megan Mullally in the aforementioned Why Him? this Friday. The comedy, which is currently stacking up hella mixed reviews ahead of its release, stars Franco as Cranston’s worst nightmare: his daughter’s famous boyfriend.

Or you can skip all of this and just keep looping Franco’s recent interpolation of the R.E.M. classic “It’s the End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine)” featuring Stephen Colbert and Michael Stipe:
