Kanye West Reportedly Met With Donald Trump to Discuss Potential ‘Ambassador’ Role

Kanye West met with Donald Trump at Trump Tower Tuesday, leaving the internet to speculate why.

The rapper might have met with Trump to discuss becoming an “ambassador of sorts,” a source close to West told E! News. The went on to add that Trump is getting West involved in a “entrepreneurial leadership role.”

The meeting apparently came about because Trump’s team reached out to West’s camp. “Trump thinks he’s a great role model when it comes to business,” the E! source added. Interestingly enough, Trump’s spokeswoman, Hope Hicks, said West asked for the face-to-face meeting, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Of course, West actually shouted out the President-Elect during one of his shows prior to his recent hospitalization. “I told y’all I didn’t vote right,” he told the audience at his San Jose show. “If I were to vote, I would’ve voted on Trump.” This show was one of the last before the rapper was hospitalized after his personal physician called 911. Reports later surfaced that West was suffering from paranoia and deep depression at the time. He has since returned home and has reportedly been working on new music.

First speculation about the meeting was that Kanye might perform at Trump’s inauguration next month, but it’s unclear if that was also discussed. The pair ended their meeting with Trump telling West in front of reporters, “You take care of yourself. I’ll see you soon.” We’ll continue to update this story as more details become available.
