Katy Perry Links Up With Migos on New Track “Bon Appétit”
With the help of Migos, Katy Perry has dished out a new single called “Bon Appétit.”
The 32-year-old singer teased the song on social media earlier this week, revealing a cover that featured her head on a plate of fruit as Quavo, Takeoff, and Offset reach in. “Bon Appétit” is Perry’s first single since “Chained to the Rhythm” dropped in February. Shortly after that release, she opened up about her long-awaited fourth studio album, insisting she wanted to concentrate on singles before rolling out a full-length project.
“I’ve got something swirling, but, you know, I think I want to put out some songs first before I give them the full meal,” she told CapitalFM. “I think we are digesting things in bite-size these days and that’s what we can handle. It’s not shade at all anything like that—you’ll know when it’s shade.”
Perry’s collaboration with Migos isn’t exactly surprising. Though she’s one of the most recognizable names in pop, she has teamed up with a number of big-name hip-hop stars, including everyone from Kanye West (“E.T.”) and Juicy J. (“Dark Horse”) to Timbaland (“If We Ever Meet Again”) and Snoop Dogg (“California Girls”).
Getting Migos on a track also seems like a smart move for Perry, as the Georgia trio has been flexing especially hard in 2017. They had a No. 1 album with Culture, dominated the radio waves with “Bad and Boujee,” made a surprise appearance at Coachella, and are scheduled to perform at this year’s Summer Jam.
“Bon Appétit” is now available to stream on Apple Music and can be purchased on iTunes. You can also check it out below via Spotify.
