Kendrick Lamar Is Upset That Adele Won Album of the Year Over Beyoncé
Upset about Beyoncé losing Album of the Year at the 2017 Grammys? Find comfort in the fact that Kendrick Lamar feels the exact same way.
Terrence “Punch” Henderson, co-president of Top Dawg Entertainment, took to Twitter last night after Adele won Album of the Year for 25 to reveal K-Dot was not feeling the decision. “I just spoke to kdot. He’s really up set about the Queen B not getting her album of the year trophy,” he wrote.

This counts as two years Beyoncé has been beat out in this coveted category with controversy following the decision; Beck scored the trophy in 2015 over Bey’s self-titled album, a moment that almost turned sour when Kanye began walking up the stage to presumably cut off Beck’s acceptance speech.

For what it’s worth, Kendrick is no stranger to getting snubbed at the Grammys. The Compton rapper lost out to Macklemore in the categories of Best New Artist and Best Rap Album in 2014, the latter of which caused an uproar from fans who believed the Recording Academy voters got it completely wrong. Macklemore ended up sending that infamous text afterward.
Who knows? Maybe Kendrick will speak his mind more at Coachella 2017, where both him and Beyoncé are scheduled to headline.
