Kendrick Lamar Will Be Featured on the Game’s Final Album ‘Westside Story’
The Game has announced his upcoming tenth, retail studio album will be his final project, and fans have been clued in on at least one featured guest. The news came late Saturday via an Instagram post.
“Excuse my eyes…..I’m high as giraffe pussy #SaturdayNightLive Vibin’ wit my nigga @kendricklamar on this #WestSideStory shit….to the studio to start my last album,” Game wrote in a caption of a photo featuring himself and the aforementioned Kendrick Lamar.
In December of 2016, Game initially announced Westside Story would be his final album during a stop in Moscow, Russia as part of his 1992 Tour. The title brings things full circle for the Compton rapper, as one of his first singles from The Documentary was also titled “Westside Story.”
A potential collab on Game’s swan song wouldn’t be the first collaboration between Kendrick and Game. The pair have shared bars on songs such as 2011’s “The City” and 2015’s “On Me.”
The update comes after Game praised Kendrick Lamar’s Damn earlier in May, saying he was “beyond motivated” and “glad real rap still exist[s]” in regard to Kendrick’s top-selling album. That post also featured game hinting at more work with Dr. Dre—who similarly brought game in under the Aftermath umbrella for The Documentary.
“I brought @DrDre back to the hood & showed him what is was on Cedar Block,” Game added in his May 3 Instagram post. While Game has yet to announce a release date for Westside Story, his social media posts indicate he’s calling in some A-list features for his final project.
