Kid Cudi and Travis Scott Flourish on New Single “Baptized in Fire”
Kid Cudi has teamed up with Travis Scott for his new song “Baptized in Fire.”
The rappers, who have collaborated in the past on songs like “Through the Late Night” and “Way Back,” unite one again on the newest track off Cudi’s forthcoming album, Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin’, which is dropping later this month. The song is slow and purposeful, with both Cudder and Scott taking time with each of their bars, drawing intensity from the rumbling backbeat.
The release follows previously released tracks “Frequency” and the Pharrell-assisted “Surfin’,” which were both performed last month at our first ever ComplexCon.
It’s no secret that Kid Cudi has been taking on his personal demons lately. Back in October, the rapper revealed to fans that he had been struggling with “depression and suicidal urges” and had entered rehab to address his issues. He took to the internet at the end of November to thank his fans for all of their positive support. “Thank you for opening your hearts and extending your love and support,” he wrote. “I wanted to let y’all know it meant the world to me. I have nothing but love for you. Words can’t really express how much it made my heart glow. I look forward to better days.” He also gave an update on his health noting that he was “Feelin’ great and brand new.”
It’s great to know Cudi is feeling better and new music from the rapper just adds to the good news. Listen to the track here or stream it below. Look for Cudi’s new album, Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin’, to arrive Dec. 16.
