LeBron James Offered to Buy Drake Margaritas to Ease the Pain After Crushing the Raptors

If there were an equivalent to senioritis in the NBA, LeBron James is going through it right now.

It’s just something that happens when you have made it to the NBA Finals in six straight seasons and already know that your squad, the Cleveland Cavaliers, are better than any other team in the Eastern Conference by leaps and bounds. When the Cavaliers swept the Indiana Pacers in Cleveland’s last series, James improved his first-round consecutive wins streak to 21 games. Now, the Cavs are playing a Toronto Raptors team that won two straight games during their playoff matchup last year only to get walloped in the next two contests. Basically, LeBron is coasting to the Eastern Conference Finals, or dare we say, the NBA Finals.

So after Drake showed up at the Air Canada Centre to watch his team fall to 3-0 in the series in a Cavs’ 115-94 win where James was just casually trying out some left-handed shots during the game, LeBron was more concerned with how they were going to celebrate Cinco de Mayo than closing out the Raptors on Sunday. According to ESPN‘s Dave McMenamin, James asked Drake to accompany him for drinks later in the evening as he made his way to the Cavs’ locker room. “Where are we headed tonight?” LeBron said. “Margaritas on me.”

Don’t get it twisted. James is still averaging 34.3 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 7.3 assists per game while hitting 56.6 percent from the field and 48.6 percent from beyond the arc. When it’s time to go to work, no one is working harder out on the hardwood than The King. But with the way the series with the Raptors has gone thus far, even he had time to celebrate Cinco de Mayo.
