Martin Shkreli Shares Preview of Alleged Lil Wayne and Kendrick Collab From ‘Carter V’
Martin Shkreli, despite reportedly agreeing to cool it with the Carter V leaks back in January, has shared more alleged tracks from Lil Wayne‘s long-awaited album. TMZ reported Wednesday that Shkreli recently teased two Wayne tracks during a livestream, including an alleged collaboration with Kendrick Lamar entitled “Mona Lisa.”
Though the audio in the video is a little hard to follow, what sounds like both Wayne and Lamar’s voices can be heard. By Shkreli’s estimation, “Mona Lisa” is the best track on the repeatedly delayed Tha Carter V album. At the time of this writing, Wayne’s camp had not publicly addressed the latest alleged leak from Shkreli.
In an interview with DJ Akademiks in December, Shkreli revealed how, exactly, he came to possess what is allegedly the true sequel to Wayne’s 2011 album Tha Carter IV. Shkreli said he was in possession of what he believed to be a double-disc “final product.” Shkreli conceded, however, that referring to what he had as Tha Carter V ultimately came down to what Wayne wanted to do. “If he says that’s Tha Carter V, then that’s Tha Carter V,” he said. “It’s his call.”
At the top of 2017, TMZ claimed that Shkreli had been approached by someone from Wayne’s camp about a previous alleged Carter V leak. TMZ‘s “Shkreli sources” said at the time that Wayne and his team had been told that no additional leaks would occur.
As recently as last week, Wayne himself has been saying that Carter V would be receiving a proper release “soon.”
