Nicki Minaj Squashes Rumors That PARTYNEXTDOOR Wrote ‘Regret in Your Tears’
Fresh off her beef with Remy Ma, Nicki Minaj has engaged in another war with a fellow artist, this time over Twitter. Minaj fired off a series of tweets Friday, debunking speculation that PARTYNEXTDOOR had a hand in writing her new song “Regret In Your Tears.”
“Party Next Door had NOTHING to do w/ #RegretInYourTears – n*gga aint never heard that song a day in his life,” Minaj wrote.
The tweetstorm was a direct response to PND’s earlier activity on social media, for which he “liked” various tweets suggesting that he had something to do with the song. Minaj was puzzled by the OVO acolyte’s cryptic behavior, and sarcastically suggested that maybe he wasn’t actually behind the “likes.”
The official writing credits for the song as listed on Apple music make no mention of PND, whose real name is Jahron Anthony Brathwaite. Listed are Onika Miraj and Brittany Hazzard, otherwise known as Nicki Minaj and Starrah.
Aside from the “liking,” PND has been relatively quiet on social media as of late, and has yet to respond to Minaj’s outburst. Could his close ties to Drake—who recently reunited with Minaj on the track “No Frauds”—be preventing him from firing back? One thing’s for sure: There is no shortage of drama in the high stakes world of hip-hop at the moment.
