Premiere: Watch Part One of Yo Gotti’s ‘Behind the Nine’ Documentary

Yo Gotti had nine days to finish his new project, White Friday, and he decided to have camera crews follow him the whole time. The results were turned into a new documentary series Behind the Nine with part one premiering on Complex.

The doc follows Gotti as he deals with a whirlwind of issues trying to pull together his new project. Gotti and his crew hole up in a luxe mountaintop mansion in California for the duration of the work, allowing everyone to enjoy some high-end surroundings while still busting out a ton of work over the course of the stay.

“I challenged myself to do this in nine days in the house with my homies,” Gotti told Complex. “It was the type of energy I needed to go back to the original feel of Cocaine Muzik.”

As many know, the rapper lost his longtime friend and manager, Mel Carter, who passed away days before his project was finished.

The project will be Gotti’s first since he signed to Roc Nation management. It includes the track “Castro” with Kanye West, Big Sean, Quavo, and 2 Chainz, and his recent single “Weatherman” with the recently-freed Kodak Black. It serves as the official follow-up to his popular release The Art of Hustle.
