Solange Asked for a Kanye West x ‘The Wiz’ Mashup, and Her Fans Came Through

Fans wasted no time answering Solange‘s request for an 808s & Heartbreak and The Wiz mashup. On Wednesday, Solange asked her 2.98 million Twitter followers to make a “video collage” of the “Don’t Nobody Bring Me No Bad News” Wiz scene set to Kanye West‘s 808s track “Bad News.”

The first response to Solange’s video request, per Fader, came from @xmariahnicole:

Solange later thanked her fans for the creativity, saying she was “forever grateful” to them for making her tweeted dream into a reality:

The original sequence from Sidney Lumet’s The Wiz (1978) features Mabel King (as Evillene) singing “Don’t Nobody Bring Me No Bad News” with some help from the Winkies. In NBC’s 2015 adaptation The Wiz Live!, Evillene—a.k.a. the Wicked Witch of the West—was played by Mary J. Blige.
