TDE Boss Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith Reveals the Labels’ 2017 Album Releases
It looks like TDE has a lot in store this year.
Over the weekend, the label’s CEO Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith responded to several tweets that shed more light on the company’s upcoming 2017 album drops. Yes, we already know Kendrick Lamar has something on deck, but Tiffith also provided some exciting information about the label’s other highly anticipated projects.
According to his tweets, Kendrick’s album will be the first to roll out (likely this Friday), and will be followed by SZA’s long-awaited debut studio album CTRL. Tiffith hinted at an SZA release earlier this year on Instagram; however, it’s been difficult for fans to fully trust Top Dawg’s promises after the slew of delays. We’re crossing our fingers we’ll finally get an SZA project before 2018.
Schoolboy Q will release his project after SZA, according to the TDE boss. Following his Blank Face tour, the 30-year-old rapper announced on social media he would deliver another album in 2017, writing: “Euros, pounds, and sum moe s-it!!! BLANKFACE TOUR IS OVER…. new album 2017 f-ck a break I’m already ready.”
And after Q, it appears Jay Rock will deliver his third studio album.
The TDE crew seems to have a solid plan, but the big question is: Will they stick to it? Tiffith has posted album release schedules in the past, and, unfortunately, they haven’t always panned out. Stay tuned.
