Since popping up on our radar with their explosive 2015 “Working For It” collaboration with ZHU and Skrillex, LA duo THEY. have been putting out a steady stream of some of the most exciting, inventive R&B we’ve come across in recent memory.
Coloring outside the lines of traditional R&B sounds, Dante Jones and Drew Love infuse a genre-hopping set of influences that range from grunge to trap into their unique style. As soon as they’ve lulled you into a laid-back groove, the duo will hit you over the head with thundering bass and gritty garage rock guitars. It’s a beautiful storm of diverse sounds that they manage to blend into a refreshing, cohesive style that’s all their own.
