This New Doritos Bag Will Let You Play the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ Soundtrack
Frito-Lay and Marvel Studios have teamed up to deliver a bag of chips that plays music. Because…well, why not?
Later this week, the snack company will roll out a special edition Doritos package with a built-in cassette deck. The bag will allow people to plug in their headphones and listen to the entire Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 soundtrack. Billboard reports the package will be rechargeable, so snack- and movie-lovers can enjoy the tunes more than once.
The film’s soundtrack was revealed earlier this month, and includes classic songs from a wide range of genres. “Surrender” by Cheap Trick, “Come a Little Bit Closer” by Jay and the Americans, “The Chain,” by Fleetwood Mac, and “Fox on the Run” by Sweet are just some of the throwback hits included on the album. This explains why Frito-Lay and Marvel decided to present a retro cassette deck design for the promotional campaign.
The soundtrack for the film’s first installment was a huge success, landing at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart and becoming the first No. 1 soundtrack made up of previously released songs.
According to Billboard, the new limited edition Doritos bag will be available to purchase this Friday at Amazon. The price, however, is still unknown. But can you really put a price on something so completely necessary?
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is set to hit theaters May 5.
