Travis Scott’s Love for Portland Goes Beyond His ‘More Life’ Collaboration
Travis Scott has nothing but love for Rip City. Ahead of the release of “Portland,” his massive More Life collab with Drake and Quavo, Scott teased fans by naming the biggest city in Oregon his go-to place in the U.S. to find peace. “Portland is the answer,” Scott said Friday in a tweet showing off his hand tattoo. “Took a trip and found happyness [sic].”
On the day of More Life‘s release, Scott kept the Portland love rolling:
But why Portland? Well, Scott’s Birds Eye View tour with Flying Lotus hits Portland’s Veterans Memorial Coliseum Apr. 19 before returning to Oregon in June for a date at Cuthbert Amphitheater in Eugene. On a good day, Eugene is a two-hour drive from Portland. Maybe he just wants the whole city to turn out for both shows.
Portland, as Quavo hints at in the track’s hook, is also the home of noted Drake collaborators Nike. Back in 2013, Drake announced an Air Jordan partnership during a show. The location of that show? Portland, of course.

Though current and longtime Portland dwellers most definitely don’t want anyone else permanently relocating to their city, a well-planned temporary stay can introduce you to its most enviable features. You probably already know that the weed here is very, very good. If you find yourself in Portland while listening to Portland, however, don’t just settle for the joys of a legal high. Make a point to hit up the Sapphire Hotel for a drink, then grab a slice at Sizzle Pie. If strip clubs are your thing, there are also plenty of those willing to accept your cash.
