“As many as 100 shots were reportedly fired late Saturday in uptown along the 600 block of North Caldwell Street,” reports Mark Price of the Charlotte Observer. “Police say the incident was not related to any CIAA sanctioned events, and there have been no reports of injuries.”
Various media reports and footage provided by witnesses have Dolph’s SUV as one of the vehicles targeted during the shooting, which occurred at approximately 6:30 pm. According to authorities, both a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van and a red SUV both sustained multiple shots. Dolph’s SUV is believed to have been equipped with bulletproof material. Based on footage obtained by eyewitnesses, Dolph went through with his scheduled performance at Charlotte’s Cameo nightclub, along with Migos and 21 Savage.

“It’s believed the shooting took place in the roadway and did not occur in a nearby apartment complex or any tented events,” reports the Observer. “Some social media posts were saying a ‘street party’ was going on in the area at the time.”
According to police, multiple vehicles and nearby apartment units were struck by gunfire, but there have been no reports of injuries related to the shooting.
