Vince Staples Will Release a New Album “Very Soon”
Just last week, Vince Staples returned with a fantastic new song, “BagBak.” Despite having only released the Prima Donna EP back in August last year, the Long Beach rapper is already looking to release the follow-up to his debut studio album Summertime ’06. As Pitchfork points out, thanks to a VIP package offered to fans looking to grab tickets for his The Life Aquatic Tour with Kilo Kish, Vince’s label has confirmed that his second album will be arriving this year.
What’s more exciting, however, is that his label, ARTium Recordings, has confirmed that the album will be released “very soon.” Offered as part of the VIP package for the tour, a CD copy of the album will be mailed to those who purchase the VIP tickets upon its release in the near future. There’s not much information to go on, but it will include “BagBak.” Considering the quality of what he’s released up until this point, it’s about time to get very excited about the upcoming, currently untitled album.
It should be noted that the VIP packages no longer list the album as part of the package, presumably because these details got out a little earlier than planned. Listen to “BagBak” below, and check out Vince’s upcoming tour dates here.
