Watch Deem Spencer’s One-Take Video For “iwyboft”
Queens rapper Deem Spencer won us over with a captivating DIY video for his subdued single “soap” back in January, and today he’s back with a one-take visual for his Sunflower EP standout “iwyboft.”
“The song itself is very petty,” the 21-year-old rapper says. “When I was coming up with the visual concept, I just wanted to be funny. I’m laying with this guy’s girl and when he calls her, I grab her phone and disrespect.”
Showing his humorous side after the comparatively serious “soap,” Deem is flashing all the signs of a multi-dimensional artist worth keeping your eye on. His Sunflower EP is a poetic reflection on the reality of maneuvering life as a young person in 2017 that reminded us of the work of artists like Earl Sweatshirt. Make sure to listen to that here if you haven’t already.
