Watch Katy Perry Perform “Swish Swish” and “Bon Appétit” on ‘SNL’ Season Finale
It was a busy week for Katy Perry, and she made sure to end it on a strong note.
The 32-year-old pop star returned to the Saturday Night Live stage for the show’s season finale. In what was her third time as SNL’s musical guest, Katy performed “Swish Swish” and “Bon Appétit” from her upcoming studio album Witness.
For “Swish Swish,” Katy was flanked by two groups in a drag queen dance battle. There was also an epic cameo from a kid with a backpack who won with his dance moves. You might’ve recognized him from IG as Russell Got Barzz.
For “Bon Appétit,” Perry was joined by Migos, who appeared on SNL for the first time. You can watch it here.
The performance came shortly after Katy announced her North American tour in support of Witness, as well as the album’s official release date. The 15-track project includes the previously released singles “Chained to the Rhythm,” “Bon Appétit” featuring Migos, as well as the possible diss track “Swish Swish” with Nicki Minaj.
Katy dished about the album during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
“Right now you’re just seeing parts of the body of work and [‘Bon Appétit’] is sort of the sexually empowered and liberated part,” she explained. “So ‘Chained to the Rhythm’ was kind of the mental, political liberation […] Now, embracing my 30s, which i think is so bomb dot com, I love it so much, I love being a woman and I love a consensual interaction. There’s nothing wrong with that, we’re all animals!”
Katy’s Witness tour will kick off in September in Columbus, Ohio. The album is set to drop June 9.
Fans should also tune into Sunday’s Billboard Music Awards, where Katy may or may not perform “Swish Swish” alongside Nicki.
