Rae Sremmurd come through with their new video for “Now That I Know.”
The Mike Will Made-It-produced track is off this year’s SremmLife 2 and finds the brothers coping with their relationship troubles and sorting their issues atop a beautiful hilltop mansion surrounded by a Ferrari-filled garage and some barely-dressed women women laying around the bed.
Their sophomore album has proven to be a breakthrough moment for the duo who scored their first No. 1 song with the track “Black Beatles” that was also produced by Mike Will Made-It and featuring Gucci Mane. The track has been dominating for five weeks straight on the Hot 100 as the song’s popularity soared as the unofficial soundtrack to the Mannequin Challenge. The video found Rae Sremmurd borrowing some direct influence from the famous English rock band as the perfect way to showcase their own rising popularity. They cross the road just like the Beatles did on their iconic Abbey Road album cover before playing a rooftop show just like the British foursome’s famous impromptu rooftop concert in 1969. The song was the third most-Googled track of the year, behind only Beyoncé’s “Formation” and Prince’s “Purple Rain.”
Fans are already anticipating new music from the rappers with speculation that they might have a song with Drake on the way. The rumors began to circulate after Slim Jxmmi previewed a song between the two parties during Fader’s Boom Basel Party at Art Basel in Miami earlier this month. Many hoped it might appear on Drake’s More Life that is now set to drop in 2017, although nothing has been confirmed.
