Watch The Weeknd’s Wild New Video for “Party Monster”
The Weeknd is back with another solid visual—just as he promised.
On Thursday, the Toronto singer released the BRTHR-directed video for his hit single “Party Monster.” It opens with a Goosebumps-esqued title card and features elements like neon lighting, a big-ass cross, and a car scene that were similarly included in the video for “Starboy.”
There are moments of The Weeknd being completely surrounded by women who eat cake with “party monster” written on it (see what he did there?), and the ending takes a wild turn that you have to check out.
“Party Monster” follows the release of the Starboy promotional short film Mania, as well as the visuals for “False Alarm” and Starboy’s title track. It’s also the first music video we’ve seen for the album since it was released back in November. Since then, Starboy has received a lot of praise and accolades, in addition to incredible commercial success. Starboy not only debuted at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200, but every single one of its tracks charted on the Billboard Hot 100. Every. Single. One.
The Weeknd was on top of the world in 2016, and he’s not about to lose momentum in the new year. Shortly after Starboy rolled out, the singer hinted he was already working on his next project. “After this album’s done, we’ll be working. I have ideas and songs that I want to get out of my head,” he told Billboard.
