XXXTENTACION Released From Jail, Does Q&A With Fans
After originally expecting to be released from jail on January 19 following accusations that he assaulted his pregnant ex-girlfriend, Florida rapper XXXTENTACION has returned home.
Hopping on Periscope to share the moment with fans, he gave a 12-minute Q&A about his return, which he said actually took place three days ago.
Explaining that he had originally planned on coming out of a rented casket to announce his return, XXXTENTACION ended up choosing to mark the occasion with a couple tweets and the Periscope instead.
“You guys don’t know how sick I’ve been not being able to talk to you guys,” he said into the camera. Addressing older fans who weren’t happy with his rising profile, he added, “To my core fans that don’t like the new fans, remember, this is a family. We are supposed to become a huge community. So you can’t get mad at the new fans and want to be pissed off. Instead of getting pissed at them for listening to ‘Look At Me’ because it’s the biggest song, guide them towards the rest of the music and show them the real good songs and really put on for me.”
Sharing some of his plans for the future, he said that he has three projects on the way: “Listen, so there’s three projects I’m coming out with: Seventeen, I Need Jesus, and Revenge. And then there’s going to be Members Only Volume 3. It’s going to take quite some time, but I’m going to give you one song.”
XXXTENTACION also made a brief appearance on the radio Wednesday afternoon and shared his thoughts on the controversy surrounding Drake possibly stealing his sound on “KMT.”
“He put his verse on my song and the cadence is literally just at the same tempo,” he said. “He’s not a man. I think he’s a bitch. That’s a bitch move. Especially when I was in jail facing life. If Drake would have came to my bond hearing, that would have made my fucking day. If he would have showed that he’s a hospitable person and that he’s really in this shit for the culture, rather than being a [censored] and taking my shit and running off with it and putting it on his album, then he would have got my kudos and my respect. I would have let him hop on the remix.”
