Surprise releases are nothing new in hip-hop, but Future has taken the notion to another level this year. The Atlanta rapper released not one but two albums in as many weeks this month and is giving his peers some serious competition.

Future stands as the current king of trap music and one of the hottest acts in the game as of late. One of the more consistent and prolific artists over the past few years, the underground legend-turned-mainstream superstar has quietly built one of the more loyal fan bases in music, allowing him to release new projects at will, whether it be mixtapes catering to his core audience or high-profile studio albums.

He took his foot off the pedal a bit in 2016, and spent most of the year riding off the wave of his monstrous 2015, along with hits from his Purple Reign mixtape and fourth solo studio album, EVOL. Just two months in to 2017, Future has returned in a big way. He affirmed his star power with a self-titled album and the announcement of his upcoming Nobody Safe Tour alongside the likes of Young Thug, A$AP Ferg, Migos, Kodak Black and Tory Lanez.

On the flip side, he found his name in headlines after rumors that his long-standing lawsuit with former partner Rocko had been settled, requiring the rapper to give up half of the royalties from his next two albums.

While those rumors have yet to be confirmed, if there is any truth to it, Future has wasted no time in attempting to cover the debt, first releasing his fifth studio album, Future, just last week, days after news of the lawsuit settlement came to light. This week, he secured another No. 1 album debut on the Billboard 200, as well as critical acclaim. And today (Feb. 24), the rhymer went directly back into the vaults, unleashing another studio album titled HNDRXX, his second album release in a week’s time.

Future may have been a return to the rapper’s more gutter musings, but HNDRXX is geared towards the opposite sex, with guest appearances from the likes of The Weeknd and Rihanna.

After delving deep into Future’s latest offering and giving it a focused listen, we’ve compiled 20 of the best lyrics on HNDRXX that are sure to catch your ear or move your soul.
