A Dr. Dre And Jimmy Iovine Documentary Is Headed To HBO
Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine go together better than onion and garlic, rent and utilities, Wi-and Fi. The two businessmen have forged a lifelong relationship and friendship that has catapulted them to the top of music as well as the forefront of technology, so it’s only right director Allen Hughes chronicle their rise. HBO announced a four-part documentary titled The Defiant One about the duo’s road to success will hit the network in 2017.

The film will feature in-depth interviews from Dre and Iovine as well as Nas, Gwen Steffani, Bono and Ice Cube. Hughes (Menace II Society) will delve into their success with Aftermath Records, discovering Eminem and the creation of Beats headphones, which led to the blockbuster $3 billion deal with Apple.
“‘The Defiant Ones’ has everything you expect in a great story — drama and humor, tragedy and triumph,” said HBO president of programming Casey Bloys in a statement. “Allen Hughes takes you on a journey through some of the most important flash points of popular culture, and I’m delighted that we can bring this unforgettable saga to our viewers.”

The movie was filmed over a three year period and also features interviews from Will. I. Am, Trent Reznor. Bruce Springstein and David Geffen and more along with unearthed videos and writing session with Eazy-E, JJ Fad, Stevie Nicks, N.W.A, Petty, Springsteen and U2.
The Defiant Ones will debut on HBO in 2017.
