XXL’s latest selections for the best songs of the week showcase the new blood in hip-hop. Migos are the veterans among the group and even they are just starting to reach their peak in the rap game.

Truthfully, multiple songs from Migos’ new album Culture could have made the cut for this week’s picks. But since we had to narrow it down to one, the Atlanta trio’s “Get Right Witcha” secured the spot. All three members shine on the Murda Beatz production, but Offset came through with one of his finer performances on the record.

“Niggas copy, Mike Tyson bite/Smoking cookie, yeah that’s dynamite/Lamborghini, white on white/All these diamonds, yeah they white on white/Takin’ chances, had to roll the dice/Send my shooters, come and take your life/Born with it, count a hundred thousand start snowing with it/Go and get it, thirty round clip tear off a arm or ligament,” Offset raps on the second verse.

Lou Phelps delivered one of the week’s top cuts with his new single “Average.” Phelps’ older brother Kaytranda laced the production on this track off the rapper’s upcoming debut 001: Experiments.

Houston’s Maxo Kream returned to the fold with a hypnotic record called “Grannies.” The talented Texan recounted some of his family’s antics, which always got scrutinized by his grandma.

Tunji Ige claimed his place in this week’s best tracks with his latest creation, “Why Don’t You?” The song seems destined for some major play thanks to the Pennsylvania rapper’s stylistic choices. “Why Don’t You?” sounds like a potential new addition to your local club DJ’s set list.
