Big Sean Brings Out Jhene Aiko In NYC I Decided Tour Stop

“New York, I’ve waited my whole life to be on this stage. Right here, right now,” Big Sean told the sold-out crowd at New York City’s famed Radio City Music Hall on Tuesday night (April 11). Sean Don brought the energy and positivity on the East Coast stop of his I Decided Tour. The 29-year-old performed an array of bangers from his wide-ranging illustrated discography—and VIBE was front and center thanks to our friends at Footaction.

The G.O.O.D. music artist was out to have a turnt-up night but also shared inspiring messages with the diverse crowd throughout his 80-minute set time. Twenty88 even made an appearance, as Sean brought out his wifey Jhene Aiko, in matching all-white attire to perform “On The Way,” “I Know,” and “Same Time, Pt. 1.” The duo’s onstage chemistry seemed so natural as Sean shouted “I love you” when Aiko headed backstage.

“It’s gonna come a point in time in your life when your dreams are gonna be in the palm of your hand, man, all the things you worked so hard for, all the f–king late nights, sleeping in the car, some of us, sacrificing meals, not eating, all of that’s gonna pay off,” Sean told the crowd at one point. “You’re gonna get your one shot, I promise you. You’re gonna get at least one in your life.” He added that when you reach that point, “If you got your people, you got your family, then it’s bigger than you and it’s bigger than me.”

The I Decided Tour’s stage design and lighting were crisp and visually appealing with a “voices in my head” theme on two jumbotron LED screens. Floating heads talked to the Dark Sky Paradise artist in between tracks and even transformed into what looked to be an older version of himself or Sean’s father, who was also in attendance with the rest of his family. The intense lighting changed colors and speeds to align with the tone of the track.

After performing the final song off his number one album, “Bigger Than Me,” Sean headed backstage as the sold-out Radio City was blacked out. Fans didn’t know if the show was over, but the LED screens lit back up with the “Voices in my head” once again telling Anderson to get “his ass back out there.” Sean then ran back out from backstage for an encore with even more energy as fans chanted his name to perform his biggest hits to date, “I Don’t F*** With You,” and “Bounce Back” which sent the crowd into a frenzy to conclude the epic performance.

The I Decided Tour is a must see as Big Sean grows into the superstar he was destined to be.
