Candice Pillay Gives Loses Her Heart On “Lady Fox”

When Dr. Dre dropped his album, Compton, back in August of 2015 there were a few unfamiliar names on the album’s credits. One of those names was South African singer/songwriter Candice Pillay.

The Pietermaritzburg native has more co-signs than Dre, though. The cunning vocalist has worked with industry heavyweights like Rihanna, Rita Ora, Sevyn Streeter, and the Far East Movement. Most recently, Pillay earned a Grammy nod for her work with TDE’s ScHoolboy Q’s Blank Face album on songs “Big Body,” “Groovy Tony,” “Ride Out,” “Whatever You Want,” and “By Any Means.”

Today (Dec. 9), Pillay gave Vibe.com the green light to premiere her latest track dubbed, “Lady Fox,” a song from her upcoming project The Wild. “Lady Fox” is a perfect blend of R&B, electronica, alternative, dubstep as well as trap. With a mix of an array of genres plus Pillay’s soft and mellifluous vocals gives the promising crooner a unique style that you should get familiar with.

The Wild follows Pillay’s 2015 EP, The High.
