Chaz French Spends Time With His Family in 'Miss You (Freestyle)' Video

Chaz French is back with an extremely personal track called “Miss You (Freestyle).” The $K and DJ Cruz-produced record features the D.C. rapper in a reflective state, particularly when rapping bout his family.

The accompanying visual, directed by Nicolas Castro, uses grainy footage to give it the feel of an old home video. French is seen playing with his daughter and looking at pictures of his son while spitting bars about the lessons he has learned.

“My colors true, yeah/Had to watch my attitude, yeah/Had to watch my late night, dog/Had to watch those negative talk/Had to watch my mama through divorce/Had to watch my daddy through the glass/Had to watch granddaddy lose to cancer/Due to everything I go to for answers/Gotta watch my liquor intake/Gotta watch those parties in L.A./Look, I ain’t money hungry but the income like a period, late/Cause when I watch my friends turn fake/Or was it just fake friends turned real/Man, I think I got catfished, it’s all backwards so roll the backwoods, yeah,” French raps.

French’s new video hits the net less than two months after his ThreeSixEight Music Group signed a joint deal with Motown Records. It also arrives just a few weeks ahead of his run on the northeast leg of Wale’s SHINE tour.
