Chris Brown To Appear On ‘Black-ish’ As A Rapper
Chris Brown is the latest celebrity to travel to the relatable world of Black-ish. According to Entertainment Weekly, the “Party” artist will play the role of a rap star in the hit comedy series.

Within the 30-minute episode titled “Richard Youngsta,” Brown’s character joins advertising forces with Dre (played by Anthony Anderson) to help elevate his rap superstar status. However, an issue arises on home base when Dre shares the news of the campaign with his wife Bow (Tracee Ellis Ross) and his mother Ruby (Jenifer Lewis), who believe that the star’s campaign initiative stirs up negative controversy. The episode will air on March 29.
The show’s creator, Kenya Barris, who said that the program is based off the structure of his own family, spoke on the importance of representation that he hopes Black-ish will promote. “We want a show that we feel is true to our experiences,” he said to IndieWire. “I think sometimes there’s an unfair bias, especially amongst our people, that one thing has to be this pandemic cure-all for everything. And to me that’s not fair.”

Black-ish airs Wednesdays at 9:30 p.m. EST.
