Dave East is on a roll. The 2016 XXL Freshman has been churning out music lately, and yesterday (Jan. 17), he unleashed a new song and video called “Push It (Eastmix).”
East does his thing on OT Genasis’ “Push It” instrumental, displaying his lyrical prowess and pinpoint flow. The 28-year-old Harlem MC also mocks Soulja Boy at the beginning of the clip, which can be viewed above.
“Aye wassup man? What’s crackin?” East shouts. “Y’all good? They tried to say big East ain’t good in the hood nigga, what’s good.” Dave then tries to put his arm around an acquaintance, who immediately pushes him away, mirroring Soulja Boy’s Facebook Live incident from a few weeks ago.
Throughout the rest of the three-minute, Max Comfort-shot video, Dave East drinks Hennessy and smokes blunts with his crew at the Raven Food Center in NYC.
He opens verse one by spitting, “I was mobbing through the east/I can get you product cheap/I got Givenchy on my feet/And all them Jordans I get free/Niggas diss me on the Instagram/In real life them niggas nerds/Bunch of lames, I drop some change/I move exactly how you heard.”
