Famous Dex’s debut album will be released this summer. The Chicago native announced his next project’s title and release date on Friday (March 17).

“Dex Meet Dexter’ The Album,” he wrote on Twitter. “6-17-2k17.”

The debut LP will be a big moment for Dex and his fans, but the rapper lost a lot of support in 2016 due to his violent actions. Dex was caught on camera beating his girlfriend, which led to the PUMA brand severing all ties with him.

“PUMA does not condone any act of violence toward women. We do not, nor will we, have any relationship w/ Famous Dex,” PUMA said on Twitter.

Dex initially commented on the situation via Twitter, but quickly deleted the tweets. The MC claimed the woman cheated on him in a halfhearted apology.

“God Know Im Sorry For Flight Her She wasn’t hurt my I Cut My Hand Like WtF Im not Like That She Cheated on me an She Was Wrong God Know,” he wrote. “Me an my Girl was Fighting Ok Y’all Shit Happen I’m Not Perfect Bt it’s God Know that Problem Gone Now.”

The brutal video did not affect Dex’s standing with Rich The Kid though. The Windy City rapper is still signed to Rich’s Rich Forever imprint, which will be releasing his debut album. The two artists teamed up on a new track called “Windmill” just a few weeks ago.
