Jury Indicts Suspect For Shooting Death Of Tyson Gay’s Daughter
A new development in the shooting death of Trinity Gay, U.S. Olympian Tyson Gay’s daughter, has surfaced. According to Kentucky.com, a grand jury indicted Chazerae Taylor for wanton murder. The site adds that the basis for this result stems from Taylor, 38, “instigating an exchange of gunfire” that resulted in the death of the 15-year-old.

In addition to the indictment, Taylor also faces four counts of wanton endangerment, alongside three other suspects, D’Markeo C. Taylor, Dvonta Middlebrooks, and Lamonte Williams. Each suspect faces varied counts of wanton endangerment.
The high school star athlete was caught in a crossfire outside of a Lexington, Kentucky-based Cook Out restaurant in October around 4 a.m. She was struck in the neck and passed away shortly after she arrived at the University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital. Trinity’s tragic death also prompted legislators to form a bill in her name that’ll allow Kentucky’s various local governments to green light their own gun control regulations, including the manufacture to possession of firearms.

In a statement on the plausibility of the bill’s enactment, State Sen. Reginald Thomas said, “It is time. No, it is past time that we addressed this problem. We must look seriously at this issue and find a way to reduce the number of victims of gun violence.”
Just five days ago, Tyson posted a photo of him and his daughter, commemorating what would’ve been her sixteenth birthday.
